When a player says something mean in an online game, who should stop it? The game company? The players? Parents? Schools?
Our class discussed this question. One student said companies must make clear rules. Another said players should report bad behavior. A third student said families should talk about online manners.
Our teacher wrote one sentence on the board: "Rules work best when people understand why they exist."
Online spaces are real spaces for our feelings. So the rules there matter.
